George McVittie Paintings

George McVittie is a local artist who has painted many subjects in the Carlisle area. He is particularly interested in local history and this is reflected in his paintings. Here are 5 of his paintings which feature the Waverley viaduct and Engine Lonning.

George has very kindly offered the original of the framed picture at the bottom to be sold. It was auctioned at a Pie and Pea supper we held and raised £150 for the Carlisle Waverley Viaduct Trust Fund.
